World Environment Day is an annual event sponsored by the United Nationsdesigned to promote environmental protection awareness and action. The theme for World Environment Day 2018 will be ‘Beat Plastic Pollution.’ Plastic pollution has become a hot topic in recent months, with New York City seriously considering banning plastic straws and other cities like Davis and San Luis Obispo, California and Miami Beach and Fort Myers, Florida successfully banning them.
