UN Women is accepting nominations until July 15 for the 2022 Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Awards, which recognizes exemplary businesses and organizations working towards gender equality. This is the first regional awards aimed to raise the visibility of companies and businesses committed to gender equality, and promote best practices among the private sector. The WEPs Awards is open to businesses, companies and enterprises of any size (including SMEs).
The 2022 WEPs Awards consist of 6 categories:
- Leadership Commitment;
- Gender-inclusive Workplace;
- Gender-responsive Marketplace;
- Community Engagement and Partnerships;
- Transparency and Reporting; and
- Youth Leadership for Generation Equality
Each category will award a Winner, 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up. While a business of any size or sector is eligible to be awarded, this year there will be an additional award for 3 additional SME Champions. This means that up to 21 private sector organizations in Malaysia will be recognized for their efforts at the Malaysia WEPs Awards Ceremony in October.
