Britain’s finance ministry has announced plans to regulate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) ratings for companies. The move aims to enhance clarity and trust in these widely used benchmarks that guide investments. Following a public consultation, the ministry will introduce legislation later this year. In the interim, a voluntary industry code of conduct has been implemented to address unregulated ratings activity.
