RHB Bank's research arm has named 12 top environmental, social and governance (ESG) stocks in the region, four of which are listed on Bursa Malaysia. These were smelter Press Metal Aluminium, pure-play construction firm Sunway Construction Group, broadband provider TIME dotCom and solar services company Samaiden Group. RHB Research said that it selected its ESG stock based on the following criteria: a return-on-equity of 15 per cent or above, 2023 net debt or shareholder funds of less than 0.7 times, a higher year-on-year margin in 2023 versus 2022, trading below respective industry average multiples, and having an ESG score above their country medians.
