Malaysia Gets International Nod For Airline Carbon Fees

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has voiced support for Malaysia’s decision to introduce airline carbon fees in line with the country’s net zero commitments. The aviation body also supports the country’s move to give full pricing flexibility on the carbon fee to individual airlines, said IATA regional vice president for Asia Pacific Philip Goh. Transport Minister Anthony Loke recently announced that airlines in Malaysia could introduce carbon fee surcharges to their passengers as early as April this year.
