The Malaysian government plans to develop a national mineral policy within the next three months, in accordance with current standard operating procedures for rare earth mining, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof. The policy is aimed at the responsible management of the country’s minerals, balancing between economic need and national revenue while ensuring that environmental sustainability is safeguarded.
