The Malaysian government plans to address electric vehicle (EV) range anxiety by prioritising the installation of direct current (DC) charging bays along long-distance routes. Deputy minister of investment, trade and industry (MITI) Liew Chin Tong said in parliament that MITI, along with partners Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) and Malaysia Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), are reevaluating the target of 10,000 EV chargers, with results expected to be presented in the second quarter of 2024 at the National EV Steering Committee meeting.
