Petronas, through its subsidiary Petronas CCS Solutions Sdn Bhd (PCCSS), has signed a joint study agreement with Jera Co. Inc (JERA) to evaluate the feasibility of the entire carbon capture and storage (CCS) value chain between Japan and Malaysia. The study will examine the separation and capture of carbon dioxide emitted by Jera in Japan, which will be transported and stored in Malaysia. PCCSS chief executive officer Nora’in Md Salleh said this agreement is in line with Petronas’ commitment to accelerating the development of CCS hubs in Malaysia.
