Sarawak is preparing to export hydropower to Singapore via submarine cables linking Kuching and Singapore. Both authorities are in negotiations and early preparation for the deal, said Sarawak Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Dr Hazland Abang Hipni. The first step is to carry out a 10-month survey for an undersea cable, following which both parties will talk further, he said.
