World Bank Approves USD50mn For Air Quality Improvements In Bosnia And Herzegovina.

The World Bank has approved a EUR46.10mn loan (USD50mn equivalent) to Bosnia and Herzegovina for an Air Quality Improvement Project. The project aims to address air pollution challenges in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) and mitigate the health and economic consequences. The project will focus on reducing PM2.5 emissions, which pose significant health risks, particularly from the residential heating and transport sectors. Currently, the FBiH lacks a comprehensive and sustainable air quality management system. The project aims to establish such a system and implement measures to reduce air pollutant emissions in the FBiH.
