The World Trade Organization (WTO) ruled in favour of the European Union's decision to classify biodiesel from palm oil as non-renewable, but acknowledged procedural issues with the EU's measures. The ruling, which concluded a multiple complaints brought against the EU by Malaysia, marks the WTO's first related to deforestation and emissions risks.
